Explore historic Carisbrook

Dating back to the gold rush era, Carisbrook was founded by the Simson brothers who began collecting tolls from diggers travelling between gold fields in the early 1850s.

The town’s collection of heritage buildings, such as the 1852 police lock up (log jail), are a delight to discover, as are the surrounding natural environments, including the Tullaroop Creek nature trail and Carisbrook Archeological Site. Fun Fact: Kath's father was the last police man to be stationed in Carisbrook and the police station is just around the corner from cottage (now a private home).
